I was originally going to design the pillows to look like candy conversation hearts. For valentine s day i decided to design a heart pillow. You should now have two completed heart panels like so. The plaid pillow with heart is a free crochet pattern and made using single crochet stitches and the plaid crochet pattern technique.

Once i got started though i changed my mind and decided to use white yarn for the font as opposed to red. When you are happy with how the pillow is filled out finish single crocheting the two pieces together. Chain 1 and single crochet the two heart pieces together through the single crochet stitches on the borders. Starting on the left side at the top begin attaching the panels together by chaining one and single crocheting around the outside of the panels in blossom using two strands.

I also added a scallop border. At the end of each row the number of stitches for completion is noted in parenthesis. This pattern includes instructions for two sizes of heart pillows. These crochet heart pillows are fun to make and are so soft and squishy when they are finished.

Leave enough space to fit your hand into the pillow and fill it with poly fil. Pattern is written in us crochet terminology. Blo back loop only. Now i know we are months away from that time of the year but it does help to start making gifts earlier in the year.

You ll need worsted weight yarn and a 4 5mm crochet hook. I think the pillows look like boxes of valentine chocolates. My favorite time of the year is the winter season especially the holiday season.
